We are looking for articles and blogs from Syrians in exile who have returned to Syria for the first time after the fall of Assad.

REDWORD for Human Rights and Freedom of Expression is looking to publish a series of articles and blogs by Syrian writers and journalists who were forced into exile and have returned to Syria for the first time following the fall of Assad.
We believe that each human experience and emotion is unique, even when certain aspects overlap. With this in mind, we aim to offer Syrians the opportunity to share their feelings, reflections, observations, hopes, disappointments, and fears during their return journey.
Submissions can be written in either Arabic or English, and we will publish them in both languages. While the suggested word count is between 800 and 1200 words, we welcome shorter or longer pieces—whatever allows you to express your story most comfortably.
We encourage Syrian writers and journalists living in exile, particularly in Canada, to contribute their ideas and writings.
For those without prior writing experience, we invite you to share your thoughts and blogs with confidence. Our team at REDWORD will work with you to provide guidance, feedback, and editing support.
We believe writing is a bridge for connection, not a barrier to silence. Write freely, write your truth.
Because…
words are stronger than weapons.
